Majan University College (MUC) is the first private higher education institution (HEI) to be established in Oman. It is one of the largest private sector HEIs and it provides a range of UK degrees which are taught in English. It is the FIRST higher education institution to achieve its institutional accreditation by the Omani Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA).

MUC requires a Student Counsellor (Omani Nationals Only) who meets the following criteria:
- Bachelors degree in Psychology or related specialisation (Masters preferred)
- At least one year of experience in a similar area
- Excellent communication skills (English and Arabic)
- High emotional intelligence abilities
- Ability to provide quality counselling intervention to students to address a range of emotional and psychological difficulties
- Ability to promote a culture of emotional and psychological wellbeing and good behavioural conduct among students.
- Basic knowledge of computers
