Dr. Maha Kobeil
Dr Maha received her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Manchester; an MA in Applied Linguistics (Discourse Studies in Language Teaching and Learning) from the University of Liverpool; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Manchester. She has extensive experience in the areas of applied linguistics, teaching English language and learning styles. For more than fifteen years, Dr. Maha has been involved in quality assurance, academic standards and accreditation activities. Her research interests are in the areas of reading comprehension, information processing, critical thinking skills, action research and student learning styles.
Ms. Nabila Al Macki
Deputy Dean (Academic Affairs)
Nabila has an MBA in Financial Management from Hull University, UK. She has rich teaching experience particularly in the areas of Finance and Accounting for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Her research interests include; curriculum development, teaching, learning and assessment strategies leadership and staff development.
Dr. M. Uma Selvi
Head of the Faculty of Business Management
Dr. Uma is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Finance and was the Quality Assurance coordinator for the Faculty of Business Management before becoming Head of Faculty. She has a PhD in financial management and also holds a Master in Accounting and Finance, an M.Phil and an MBA where she secured the university first rank. Dr. Uma has over two decades of successful teaching experience and she teaches Advanced Management Accounting, Investment Decision Analysis, Strategic Finance, Cost Accounting and Research Methods for the postgraduate, undergraduate and ACCA programmes. She is an approved research supervisor for doctoral studies and has published several research papers in international and national journals.
Prof. Vijaychkandran Nair
Head of the Faculty of Information Technology
Prof. Vijay has a Ph.D in Management, Information Technology. He is a Fellow of the IACS and Senior member of IEEE, IMCT. He has guided more than 35 undergraduate and postgraduate research based projects, and published / presented 13 papers at national/international conferences / journals. He is also a lifetime member of CSI.ISTE IEE. Professor Nair is on the editorial board of two International Journals (DRJ, IMJR). His area of interest is in Vertical Management Information Systems Standards and Nomadic Computing Service Innovation.
Dr Iain McGee
Head of the Faculty of English Language Studies
Iain earned his PhD from Cardiff University, UK, in 2006. Since that time he has published research in various international journals and presented papers at conferences on a variety of subjects within the fields of applied linguistics and TESOL. His current academic interests are in discourse analysis, genre analysis, paragraphing, and writing pedagogy. Iain taught in HEIs in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in Oman, before joining Majan College in June 2016. He believes all students should be researchers – asking questions, finding answers, and then asking more questions!
Mr. Ian McNaught
Associate Dean (Planning and Resources)
Ian has a MSc in Multimedia and Elearning from the University of Huddersfield, UK. Prior to joining Majan College he worked for the University of Huddersfield for 6 years as a Learning Technology Advisor. His research interests include Mobile Learning, Online Formative Assessment and Plagiarism in the Internet Age.
Dr. Brian Poole
Associate Dean (Learning, Teaching and Research)
Brian has a Doctorate in Education (EdD) from the University of Bath, UK. He re-joined the College in January 2016 having previously been its QA Director and Head of English between 1999 and 2003. In a long and varied career he has held a variety of lecturing, academic management and quality assurance posts in a range of countries, including the UK, Singapore and Oman. His academic background and publications are in the fields of applied linguistics and higher education, and he is currently an external examiner at the University of Brighton (UK).
Mr. Amr Ebeid
He joined the College in 2008. Amr has extensive experience in financial operations control and development of financial objectives in line with the college strategy. He has more than seven years’ previous experience in public accounting practice with Deloitte and KPMG in the Middle East. He has been responsible for providing audit & advisory services to a wide range of business sectors. He is a chartered accountant and holds postgraduate degrees in finance.
Mr. Sami Al Yousfi
Head of Administration & HR
Sami holds an MBA from the University of Bedfordshire, UK. He oversees the provision and smooth running of facilities in the College. He works closely with senior management and is involved in strategic planning for the College. He is also directly responsible for facilities in the hostels, the security of the College's premises and crisis management. He is a sports enthusiast and plays a very active role in the College's sport and co-curricular activities.
