Majan is the ONLY institution
so far to achieve full institutional accreditation! 

On the 21st December 2017, the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) held a press conference at Majan University College (MUC) to formally announce that Majan is the first HEI in the Sultanate to receive its institutional accreditation. The press conference was presided over by HE Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, the Chairman, Board of Directors of OAAA and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Dr. Salim Bin Reddha Al Redhwi, the CEO of OAAA.

The Necklace
An excellent rendition of 'The Necklace' by Guy De Maupassant was preformed by the 'Fiction in English' society.
Academic Book Published by Dr Iain McGee
Dr Iain McGee, an Associate Professor and Head of the Faculty of English Language Studies at Majan recently published a book entitled ‘Understanding the Paragraph and Paragraphing’ with Equinox Publishing (UK). The text, which took over 5 years to write, has been described by the editor of the series (Professor Martha Pennington, SOAS & Birkbeck College, University of London) as ‘a monumental work of scholarship’. She further added to this praise her belief that it will become the ‘definitive text’ on the subject within the field.
Campus Company
Majan is proud to launch its 'Campus Company', an entrepreneurial venture run by students! The objective of the campus company is to set up a live lab for students to practice and hone their entrepreneurial skills. The SME Development Fund supported and financed the campus company, supervised by Dr. Tahseen Arshi, Director of Studies, Faculty of Business Management. The launch event took place under the auspices of His Excellency Dr Said bin Hamed bin Said Al Rubaii, Secretary General of the Education Council.
2017 Graduation
933 students from diploma, bachelor and masters programmes graduated from Majan this year. The graduation ceremony took place at Al Noor Hall in Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos.
Identifying Skills & Knowledge Gaps Between Fresh Graduates & Employers' Needs
Staff development training took place at Majan on 'Identifying Skills & Knowledge Gaps Between Fresh Graduates & Employers' Needs'. This involved representatives from the following sectors discussing the needs for their sector in Oman; Ministry of Higher Education, Banking, Oil & Gas, Telecommunications and Aviation.
Foundation Fest
Foundation Fest this week consisted of football, games, drama, live music, competitions and food.
Vice Chancellors and Deans of Private Higher Education Institutions
The annual meeting of the Vice Chancellors and Deans of Private Higher Education Institutions in Oman was held this week at Majan.
Alumni Gathering
Majan is planning to hold an Alumni Gathering event on a Sunday, in either late January or early February next year at the Sheraton Hotel, Ruwi.  The College has postponed the original event, but the new event is being planned to be bigger and better than the original. Once a new date has been set, a registration link will be circulated via emails and social media.
