In a further boost to the reputation of Majan University College as a provider of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education, three more of its staff have gained the status of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Last month, Dr Iain McGee, Associate Professor and Head of the Faculty of English Language Studies, became the first staff-member to receive this accolade. Now Anita Boggu (also of the Faculty of English Language Studies), Ijaz Ahmad (Faculty of Information Technology) and Surya Narayanan (Faculty of Business Management) have recorded the same achievement. The HEA is a UK-based body that aims to promote world-class teaching in higher education internationally. Senior Fellow status is achieved through a refereed portfolio submission that demonstrates the values, core knowledge and successful engagement in teaching and learning activities required by the UK Professional Standards Framework. Majan University College is continuing to fund groups of its staff to achieve Fellowship with HEA at various levels. This is indicative of the College’s commitment to high quality teaching and to providing a rich learning experience for its students.
