Majan University College (MUC) takes pride in announcing the success of the 1st Student Symposium on Research and Innovation in Computing & Information Technology organized by the Faculty of Information Technology (FoIT). This groundbreaking event was conducted in a virtual setting on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023.
The wide array of technological research papers/posters presented by students from different colleges and universities throughout Oman, both private and governmental, left everyone deeply impressed. The students who participated expressed their appreciation to Majan University College and its symposium team for providing them with the chance to showcase their research.
From the research submissions received, the MUC team selected 25 exceptional presentations, consisting of 10 research papers and 15 posters. The symposium provided a platform for young researchers from Oman to present their research, engage in meaningful discussions, and foster collaborations across different disciplines. Three outstanding research papers received awards, along with three additional awards for the best research posters.
The symposium began at 9am with an address to the participants by Dr. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Head of the IT Faculty. The Chair of Symposium Organization, Dr. Mohammed Waleed, ensured that all participants enjoyed a professional and engaging experience throughout the sessions. The Chair of the Poster Session, Dr. Manju Jose, along with FoIT colleagues did an excellent job of managing the paper and poster presentations.
MUC would like to express its gratitude and recognition to the ten academic institutions in the Sultanate of Oman for their active participation in this symposium. Their valuable contributions greatly enhanced the success of the symposium, leading to realistic expectation of similar events in the future.
